Several days ago, I posted an article titled "Don’t Just “Go” Through it, “Grow” Through It". It was about accepting change. I want to write some more about that now. In my past article, I explored my feelings about all the change that we’ve been going through for the past couple years. All kinds of change — loss of our lifestyles as well as the loss of life.
It’s strange that when I look back on fond memories, it feels like things change so fast, but when things are hard in my present moment, it feels like it will last forever.
Recently, the words “This Too Shall Pass” popped into my mind.
This, too, shall pass.....This, too, shall pass.
Nothing stays the same.
Of course, it’s true for the things that I am enjoying, but I need also to remember it during the times that I am NOT enjoying. Because sometimes they can feel like they are dragging on and on and on.....
This, too, shall pass.....This, too, shall pass.
I bumped into a wonderful meditation on YouTube this morning. It’s about learning to embrace impermanence.
I love the words in this video. I love the reminder that without impermanence life would cease to be. The seed would never transform into the tree or bear fruit to produce more seeds. The baby would never transform into the teen and then into the adult to produce another baby.
And as much as we miss the 4 year old and the 10 year old and the 16 year old versions of our children, it’s so exciting to witness what they will become as they transform and grow.
So not only am I going to embrace life even in the presence of the reality of death (discussed in the past article) — I’m going to do my best to appreciate the impermanence of life — not to take one moment of it for granted. Because I am clear that they ALL will pass — the moments I enjoy and the ones I am not enjoying so much. As hard and scary as they feel — they, too, will pass.
As we move into a new year, take some time to remember it. Remember the times that made you smile and laugh. The times you felt at peace. Remember even the difficult times and how -- even they, too, somehow have passed.
Think about all you have gotten through during 2021 because we will continue to make it through, family. We will continue to make it through! It doesn't mean we wish our moments away, on the contrary, it's a reminder to LIVE in the moments -- each and every one of the moments. Embrace them because they, too, will pass.
Wishing you a Happy and Healthy New Year filled with THE FORCE WITHIN!
All my love to you!
Rhonda
